Where to Start
SolarPowerMyRV earns a 4.9 from 106 reviews and handles motorhomes and travel trailers, but its service focus means you might find more support than selection. Trailer Source of Frederick, just up the road, scores 4.8 from 117 reviews and sells new and used with financing and parts on site. Nomad Caravans has a perfect 5.0 from only 4 reviews, so treat that as a small sample. For volume, Windish RV Center Longmont has 253 reviews at 4.4, and General RV Center brings 121 reviews at 4.1. Both carry new and used travel trailers and motorhomes.
What to Check on the Lot
With six dealers offering financing, you have options, but get pre-approved by your own bank first so you can compare. Ask for the build sheet and check the cargo capacity, because travel trailers fill up fast. A pre-purchase inspection by a certified tech is money well spent, even on a new unit. Walk the roof and look for sealant cracks. At delivery, do a full walk-through with everything connected: water, power, slides, awning. Video it. I skipped that on my first trailer and spent a weekend chasing a water leak.
Service and Season
SolarPowerMyRV and Windish both have service departments, which matters for warranty work and annual maintenance. Trailer Source locations in Frederick and Longmont also run parts and service. If you plan to camp in the mountains, ask how the trailer handles altitude and cold. Off-season buying can mean more attention from sales staff and better negotiating room. Longmont is close to Rocky Mountain National Park and the foothills, so a capable tow vehicle is a must. Check the service bay before you buy, not after.
