What Claremore lots carry
All four dealers in town handle travel trailers. Two also list used units, and every one of the four sells motorhomes as well. If you want a new travel trailer, Route 66 RVs is your main stop since it's the only one with new inventory. The others focus on used or rental fleets. That mix means you'll likely find a range of floorplans, but don't expect every lot to have the same models. Call ahead to confirm what's on the ground before making the drive. Keep in mind that rental outfits sometimes sell off units after a season, which can be a decent value if you don't mind some wear.
The big lot and the small ones
Ron Hoover RV & Marine of Tulsa has 480 reviews and a 4.2 rating. It's the volume dealer here, with financing, service, trade-ins, and delivery. Route 66 RVs on Route 66 itself has 155 reviews and a 4.1 rating, plus financing, parts, consignment, and delivery. The two RV Vacation Rentals Inc listings are smaller: one has a single 5.0 review, the other 14 reviews at 4.4. Those are rental operations that also sell, so inspect carefully and ask about maintenance records. A big lot gives you more choices; a small one might give you more time.
Before you sign
Get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent RV tech, even on a new unit. The walk-through at delivery is your chance to test every system with the tech present. I skipped that once and spent a weekend fixing a water heater. Ask for financing pre-approval from your own bank before you talk numbers at the lot, especially at the two dealers that offer financing. Check the service department's backlog; Ron Hoover and RV Vacation Rentals both list service, so ask how long a repair takes. Off-season buying can mean more attention from sales staff. And don't fall for a pressure close; walk away if something feels off.
