What to expect on the lot
With five dealers and only two offering financing, you'll want to get pre-approved by your own bank or credit union before you shop. That gives you a baseline to compare any dealer financing against. Used units dominate the scene, which makes sense for a lake town where people often buy a camper and later trade up or sell. Motorhomes and travel trailers are both represented, but if you want a specific floor plan, call ahead. Inventory turns over, and a lot that had the bunkhouse you wanted last month may not have it today.
Before you sign
A pre-purchase inspection by an independent RV technician is money well spent, especially on used units. The same goes for a thorough walk-through at delivery, where you test every system and record any issues. Chesaco's parts department is a plus if you need accessories or repairs, and Advanced RV Centers offers service and delivery, which can simplify things if you're not local. Take your time and don't let the excitement of a lake weekend rush the paperwork. Off-season shopping often means more attention from sales staff and a better chance to negotiate.
