Which lots carry the inventory
Seven O's RV Way earns a 4.8 from 403 reviews and focuses on travel trailers. Meyer's RV & Marine of Syracuse pulls a 4.5 from 453 reviews and handles new, used, motorhomes and trailers. Wilkins RV of Syracuse rates 4.4 from 266 reviews and also covers the full spread. Burdick's RV Center at 4.1 has 87 reviews for motorhomes and trailers. Four of the seven stores offer financing, so get pre-approved at your own bank first, then compare. Used inventory shows up at three stores, motorhomes at four, and travel trailers at five. That spread tells you where to start if you already know what you want.
Before you drive out
Cicero is a straightforward drive from Syracuse, but inventory changes daily. Call ahead and confirm the unit you saw online is still on the lot and available for a walk-through. Ask for the stock number and a photo of the actual RV. On a used unit, hire an independent inspector before you commit, even at a lot with a 4.8 rating. I skipped that step once and spent the first month fixing what the inspector would have caught. Also ask which stores have their own service and parts departments, since Wilkins and Meyer's both list service and parts.
Timing and the off-season
Late fall and winter are slower at most lots, and sales staff have more time to answer questions. That can work in your favor on a used unit that has been sitting. Four Cicero stores list financing, but dealer financing is not automatically the best rate. Get pre-approved from your own bank before you walk in. At delivery, do the full walk-through with the service department, test every appliance and ask for a written demo of the water and electrical systems. If a store also has a service and parts building, like the Wilkins service location, stop in and see how busy it looks.
